“What I Learned about the Library”

There are two things I learned from the library session. First, how to use North Central's resources. The second is how to identify and find credible resources. I didn't even know that the NCC library had a website until I attended this session. Therefore, when I learned that academic articles and newsprint searches were available, I was very impressed with how convenient they were. In the previous semester, I had several assignments in which I had to search for economic articles from the Wall Street Journal, summarize the papers, and write my opinion from a microeconomic perspective. I had to pay to see the Wall Street Journal articles, so I paid for those few assignments. However, when I learned in this session that I could find articles from the Wall Street Journal on the library's website, I was amazed and decided to use this service next time I have a similar assignment. Furthermore, I am very happy to know that I will be able to spend less time on searching for references when I write my papers. Furthermore, when I was writing papers, it used to take me a long time to find references, so I am grad to know this library service.

I was also surprised to learn this is not the case, as I had previously thought all sites on org or eductions were academic articles. I will find academic articles based on the definition of academic articles and how to distinguish them, which I learned in this session. In addition, I learned for the first time that scholarly articles are peer-reviewed, which was also new knowledge for me.
